Roof Top Safety

Recently Ideal Shield was presented with a situation where employees were working on a roof with no fall protection in place. Fall protection needed to provided but the customer was concerned that there was no where on the roof to side mount the rails and surface mounting was out of the question because of the potential for water leaking through the roof.

Ideal Shield satisfied the customer’s need by providing them with our 42″ high roof rail system with uses 95 lbs counter weighted bases plates that do not need to be bolted down to any part of the roof and satisfies all OSHA requirements.

Recently we had a customer purchase almost 200 Ideal Shield Bumper Post Sleeves. We know we have a great product but like to hear from our customer why they purchase our sleeves.

Durable Handrail Solutions for Truck Docks

A customer had a problem with delivery trucks running into dock railing when backing up. Once pre-fabricated railing got hit, rail would be damaged from the beginning of dock all the way up to dock door

They installed Ideal Shield Industrial Pipe & Plastic Handrail, all 9 foot sections of modular handrail. Now if the first nine foot section of handrail is damaged rather than the entire length of the truck dock. Now the replacement cost is minimal and much easier to fix. The handrail is maintenance free and never needs to be painted with aluminum fittings that will not rust.

The customer now has a maintenance free system that is not as expensive to replace and looks great for years.

Traffic Flow Problems

Recently Ideal Shield helped a hospital emergency room solve its traffic flow problems. ER visitors and patients could not easily see where they were supposed to park and where emergency vehicles took precedence and were creating flow problems in the parking lot.

Ideal Shield recommended the pyramid sign base in blue and red to increase signage visibility and make sure patrons could easily identify where they were supposed to park. U-Channel covers were installed on all signs where existing u-channel has been utilized to give the parking lot a consistent look and keep all parking spots clearly marked.

Since the sign bases were installed the parking problem has all but disappeared and the hospital couldn’t be happier with the results.

Portable Parking Signage in Parking Garages

Sky Harbor International Airport was experiencing problems with the epoxy signs kept falling over when hit by vehicles while parking. They are unable to bolt down signs into garage floor due to parking garage safety codes.

Ideal Shield sign bases offered Sky Harbor the perfect solution. Sign bases do not need to bolted to the floor in order to be stable. When filled with water, sand or concrete sign bases will not tip over and will not move if bumped into, making them great for areas where they cannot be bolted down.

Sky Harbor uses Ideal Shield sign bases on all levels of their parking structures and no longer have an issue with them breaking.

Powder Coated Guardrail

Recently Pepsi Bottling needed a modified guardrail for their distribution center. Ideal Shield prides itself on being able to work with customers to find solutions that meet their requirements.

The customer still wanted to protection and durability Ideal Shield’s guardrail offers but wanted a powder coated system. We were able to build that traditional guardrail unit minus the plastic covering and had it powder coated safety yellow for high visiblity.

The customer was very pleased with the finished product because not only did it protect their valuable assets but it also meant their requirements.

ATM Theft

We all hear it in the news, someone ties a chain to an ATM and tries to drive off with it. Most of the time they are unsuccessful but still puts the public and the bank at risk. Bollards are a great way to prevent this type of theft.

Ideal Shield provides both pipe for bollards and bollard covers to prevent this type of problem. All of our products are designed with strong a focus on safety, its a big part of our corporate culture!

This video is a great example of the after effects of an attempted theft. Not only is it expensive to replace but the clean up is quite a chore. Ideal Shield Bollard Covers and Bollards are a cost effective way to keep everything where it belongs.

Safe deliveries

One of our customers was having trouble with delivery truck running into poles and causing significant damage to 18 wheelers. The customer needed a way to make their poles easily visible to truck drivers backing up to avoid further damage.

Ideal Shield helped devise a solution that included using several sleeves stacked on top of each other to give them the necessary height to be visible by drivers. Now deliveries are made safely without damage to trucks or anything else near the docks.

Cost Savings Case Study

Cost savings is among the biggest focuses of every facility and Ideal Shield is committed to helping our customers save money and reduce maintenance.

One of our customers came to us trying to find cost savings in their bollards. They were buying 6″ pipe, primed, then painting it. The facility had nine bollards. They believed that bumper post sleeves would be too expensive but once we discussed it and wrote up a quote for the steel pipe and the covers we were able to show them a cost savings of $15 per bollard which saved them $135 overall. Using Ideal Shield bumper post sleeves the customer never has to worry about maintenance again, eliminating the cost of painting every year.
